Kodiak is a beautiful, emerald island located
in the central Gulf of Alaska. It offers some of the world's
best remote fishing and wildlife viewing amidst spectacular
scenery.
A mere 40-minute hop by jet from Anchorage, this 120-mile
long archipelago remains largely undiscovered by tourists.

Besides the great fishing, there is a lot on Kodiak to entertain
the traveler. People flock here to photograph the world-renowned
Kodiak brown bear, the world's largest land carnivore. Kodiak
also has some 100 miles of road system to explore it's many
bays and watersheds. Hiking and guided kayaking are also other
popular activities.
Thousands of whales, including the gregarious and photogenic
humpback, invade the western Gulf of Alaska to feed in one
of the world's most fertile oceans.
Kodiak Island was the first Russian settlement in Alaska.
Tour Alaska's oldest Orthodox Church and two historical museums,
all located in downtown Kodiak.
